history

Leukershausen was mentioned for the first time in a document under the name Lukershausen in 1285/1286, further mentions followed in 1317 as Luggershausen and 1345 as Lyechartshusen . Due to the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Württemberg at the beginning of the 19th century , the place became an independent rural community in the Oberamt Crailsheim , to which the hamlets Bergertshofen , Haselhof , Selgenstadt and Waidmannsberg as well as the homestead Vötschenhof also belonged. Leukershausen has been part of Kreßberg since 1973, after this entire community was reorganized from the previously independent communities of Leukershausen, Marktlustenau , Mariäkappel and Waldtann as part of the municipal territorial reform . In 2018 Leukershausen had 198 inhabitants.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is mainly made through the L 1066 state road coming from Crailsheim . This continues in an easterly direction to the state border, where it continues as Bavarian State Road 1066 . A community road branches off from this state road in Leukershausen and connects the place with the neighboring town of Selgenstadt to the northwest. Another state road begins in Leukershausen and continues as L 1010 in a south-easterly direction to the Kreßberg district of Marktlustenau , on the northern edge of which it turns west to Waldtann.
