Levkiw ( Ukrainian Левків ; Russian Левков Lewkow ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast Zhytomyr with about 2800 inhabitants (2004).
The village, founded in 1501, is located on the banks of the Teteriv 14 km east of the Zhytomyr Oblast center . Levkiw is the administrative center of the eponymous, 66.388 km² district council in Zhytomyr Raion , which also includes the two villages Kalyniwka ( Калинівка ) with about 670 inhabitants and Klitschyn ( Клітчин ) with about 550 inhabitants. The village was occupied by Wehrmacht troops between July 10, 1941 and December 29, 1943 .
