Li Ji (athlete)
Li Ji ( Chinese 李 季 , Pinyin Lǐ Jì ; born September 19, 1979 ) is a Chinese long-distance runner .
The protégé of the controversial coach Ma Junren was the only runner from his so-called "army" that the Chinese officials approved for the Olympic Games in Sydney after blood tests in the summer of 2000 . There she was seventh over 10,000 m . The following year she won the silver medal in the 5000 m at the East Asian Games .
After a positive doping test on July 17, 2001, the athlete was banned for two years.
In 2004 she started for the Nagoya University of Commerce & Business at the Nagoya Marathon and came in 25th place.
