Li Kongzheng ( Chinese  李 孔 政 , Pinyin Lǐ Kǒngzhèng , born May 4, 1959 ) is a former Chinese diver . He jumped first in the 10-meter high diving and later also in artificial jumping from the 3-meter board. Li took part in two Olympic Games and won a medal. He was also able to win a medal at world championships.

Li learned to dive at a sports school in Beijing . At the age of 15 he took part in the Asian Games in Tehran and immediately won the gold medal from the 10-meter tower. He was also able to win a medal at the following Asian Games in Bangkok in 1978 and in Delhi in 1982 , but this time from the 3-meter board. At the 1982 World Cup in Guayaquil , he just missed a medal in fourth from the 3-meter board and sixth from the 10-meter tower. In 1984 he played his first Olympic Games in Los Angeles and won the bronze medal from the 10-meter tower. He also won another medal at the 1986 World Cup in Madrid with silver from the tower. His last international competition was the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , where he finished sixth from the 10-meter tower.

After his active career, Li Kongzheng worked as a coach for the US Association. He initially worked at the University of Minnesota and later at the Columbus Performance Center . For several years he also coached the Australian national team in Melbourne . Since 2010 he has been a coach at the University of Michigan .
