Li Liguo

Li Liguo ( Chinese  李立国 ; born November 1953 in Yutian , Hebei Province ) is a politician of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the People's Republic of China , who was Minister of Civil Affairs between 2010 and 2016 .

Life

Li Liguo, a Han ethnic group , began his professional career in a construction machinery factory in Shenyang in January 1970 and joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in May 1974 . He graduated from the Engineering Institute northeast China and was, among others, from 1985 to 1990 deputy secretary of the Communist Youth League (KJVC) in the province of Liaoning . He was then vice- mayor of the prefecture-level city of Panjin from 1990 to 1993, and then from 1993 to 2001 a member of the general secretariat of the CCP's regional committeeTibet Autonomous Region . There he was deputy secretary of the regional committee between 1999 and 2003 and briefly vice-chairman of the central committee in 2003 as well as secretary of the party leadership group of the CCP of the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region .

Subsequently, Li Liguo acted as Vice Minister for Civil Affairs between 2003 and 2005 and was at the same time a member of the party leadership group of this ministry. From 2005 to 2010 he was first deputy minister for civil affairs as well as deputy secretary of the party leadership group of the ministry for civil affairs. As the successor to Li Xueju , he finally took over the post of Minister for Civil Affairs in the State Council of the People's Republic of China in June 2010 . On the XVIII. At the 2012 Congress , he was elected a member of the CCP Central Committee and was a member of this body until 2017. In 2013 he was confirmed as Minister for Civil Affairs by the National People's Congress and at the same time took over the post of Deputy Director of the National Committee for Disaster Risk Reduction in 2013. As minister, he announced in March 2016 that the names of buildings that “damage sovereignty and national dignity, are contrary to core socialist values, are considered immoral or are the cause of most complaints from the people” will have to be changed.
