Li Zhenshi

Li Zhenshi , also Li Chen-Shih , (born October 29, 1949 in Liaoning ) is a Chinese table tennis player . In the 1970s and early 1980s, he won four titles at world championships .

Career

From 1975 to 1981, Li Zhenshi participated in four world championships . He was double world champion in 1977 with Liang Geliang and in 1981 with Cai Zhenhua . He won gold with the Chinese men's team in 1975 and 1977. In 1979 he was in the mixed final with Yan Guili . He also reached the semi-finals in 1979 in singles and doubles with Wang Huiyuan .

He was also successful several times at the Asian Championships . Here he was Asian champion with the Chinese team in 1974 and 1976. He reached the final in 1974 in doubles with Diao Wenyuan and mixed with Zhang Li and in 1976 in doubles with Liang Geliang .

In the 1980 World Cup he was second in the individual.

In the ITTF world rankings , Li Zhenshi finished fourth in July 1979.

In 1981 he ended his career as a competitive athlete. At first he worked as a trainer afterwards. In 1991 he emigrated to the USA, where he coached the American national team.

Private

Li Zhenshi was married to multiple world champion Zhang Li until her death in February 2019 . Her daughter is table tennis player Li Nan . Today he lives in the USA.
