Liam O'Brien (screenwriter)
Liam O'Brien (born March 7, 1913 in New York City , † March 24, 1996 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American screenwriter and television producer.
Life
O'Brien began his work as a screenwriter in the early 1950s. He previously completed his academic training at Fordham University and Manhattan College. During World War II he served in the United States Army Signal Corps . He has written several plays, including the template for the film The Honorable Bigamist , with which he was successful on Broadway . O'Brien turned to television in the 1970s, writing and producing on series such as Hawaii Five-Zero and later Miami Vice .
He and Robert Riskin were nominated for a Best Original Story award at the 1952 Academy Awards for the screenplay for Wedding Parade.
For his participation in the television series Police Story - Always on duty , O'Brien was awarded an Emmy in 1976 along with the rest of the production team . In 1985, she received an Emmy nomination for the Miami Vice series
O'Brien died of a heart attack. He was survived by his wife and their child. A son died in 1981. His brother Edmond O'Brien , an Oscar-winning actor, died in 1985.
