Lichtenberg is a district of the community Scheuring in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .
geography
The Good Lichtenberg is located about two kilometers south of Scheuring on the eastern high terrace of Lech .
history
First mentioned in a document in 1354, Lichtenberg came in 1386 to the Bavarian dukes Stephan and Johann , who gave the tithe to the Schäftlarn monastery in 1387 .
From 1666 Lichtenberg Castle remained in direct possession of the Bavarian electors. They used the castle for summer stays.
The castle itself was rebuilt in 1687 by court architect Giovanni Antonio Viscardi and demolished in 1808 by General von Wrede to obtain building material for military buildings in Augsburg.
Attractions
A former estate manager's house from 1777 is located in Lichtenberg.
