The area was designated as a nature reserve under the protection area number 4319 by ordinance of the Tübingen regional council of December 16, 2014. The CDDA code is 555588644 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .
location
The protected area is to the left of the Danube between the industrial area Donautal and the river between the Ensostraße bridge in the south and the Kastbrücke in the north. The NSG Gronne is located exactly opposite on the other side of the Danube .
The landscape protection areas Gögglingen and Ulm border on the nature reserve, it also belongs to the FFH area Danube between Munderkingen and Ulm and the northern Iller . The protected area is located in the natural area 04 - Donau-Iller-Lech-Platte within the natural spatial main unit 042 - hill country of the lower Riss .
Protection purpose
The protection purpose is the preservation of a floodplain and still water landscape in the floodplain area of the Danube, which is important for the Ulm area, with a wide variety of habitats and retreats for a species-rich and endangered bird world as well as a varied landscape in the vicinity of the settlement.
