location

The protected area is to the left of the Danube between the industrial area Donautal and the river between the Ensostraße bridge in the south and the Kastbrücke in the north. The NSG Gronne is located exactly opposite on the other side of the Danube .

The landscape protection areas Gögglingen and Ulm border on the nature reserve, it also belongs to the FFH area Danube between Munderkingen and Ulm and the northern Iller . The protected area is located in the natural area 04 - Donau-Iller-Lech-Platte within the natural spatial main unit 042 - hill country of the lower Riss .

Protection purpose
