Lidija Nikolajewna Grigorjewa ( Russian Лидия Николаевна Григорьева , English transcription Lidiya Grigoryeva ; born January 21, 1974 in Smytschka, Chuvash ASSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian long-distance runner .

At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, she finished ninth in the 10,000 meter run . At the 2004 Athens Games , she finished eighth after becoming the Russian champion over this distance earlier that year.

At the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 , she finally won bronze with her personal best of 30: 32.72 minutes behind her compatriot Inga Abitowa and Susanne Wigene (Norway).

In the meantime she has successfully turned to longer distances, especially the marathon . At the World Half Marathon Championships she was fourth in 2003 and seventh in 2005. In 2005 she won the Paris Marathon , and in 2006 she won the Los Angeles Marathon in 2:25:10 h, which was both a course record and a personal best. That same year she finished fifth in the New York City Marathon .

In 2007 she won the Boston Marathon under stormy conditions in 2:29:18 h and was fourth in the New York City Marathon.

Lidija Grigoryeva has a competition weight of 47 kg with a height of 1.63 m. She is from Cheboksary and started running at the age of 12. She is married, has a daughter and is trained by former Russian marathon record holder Leonid Schwezow . Her sister Irina Timofejewa is also successful as a marathon runner.
