Irina Nikolaevna Timofeeva

Irina Nikolajewna Timofejewa ( Russian Ирина Николаевна Тимофеева , English transcription Irina Timofeyeva ; born April 5, 1970 ) is a Russian long-distance runner who specializes in marathons .

In 1996 she became the Russian marathon champion in 2:37:56 h. At the World Athletics Championships in 1997 , she finished 41st.

In 1999 she was second in the Paris Marathon in 2:27:46 h and in 2000 third in the Chicago Marathon in 2:29:13 h.

The following year she was sixth in the Boston Marathon , eleventh in the 2001 World Championships and was second in 2:25:39 h in the Tokyo International Women's Marathon .

At the European Athletics Championships in 2002 she came in 13th place. In the same year she was third in Tokyo with 2:26:45 h, but at the 2003 World Championships she did not get past 40th place.

In 2004 she finished seventh in the World Half Marathon Championships and fourth in the Prague Marathon . In 2005 she won the premiere of the Delhi Half Marathon and the Singapore Marathon and in 2006 the Paris Marathon in 2:27:22 h.

In 2007 she finished fourth in the Berlin Marathon in 2:26:54 h, and in 2008 she not only set a course record at the Hamburg Marathon with 2:24:14 h, but also a personal best.

Irina Timofejewa is 1.64 m tall, weighs 48 kg and comes from Cheboksary . She is married and has one son. Her sister Lidija Grigoryeva is also successful as a marathon runner.
