Lieben (spelling: love ) is a German fiction film from 2006 by Rouven Blankenfeld .

action

Boris is lonely. As a bottle sorter, at least ostensibly, he has a share in social life. At home he lives with corpses. Mostly junkie girls whom he picks up on the street, pretends to help them and kills them in his apartment, only to assault them.

One of his victims is the young Nike, whose mother Mariet is not ready to give up her missing child and is desperately looking for her. When Mariet and Boris meet in a drug contact point, he offers her his help. Little does Mariet know that she is about to fall in love with her daughter's killer. While she invites him to her home, he is aware that Mariet is the mother of his victim. Despite the burgeoning love, he cannot let go of his addiction and continues to kill and assault young women in his apartment. Only when the police show Mariet pictures of suspects, on which Boris can be seen, do they become suspicious.

When Mariet enters Boris' apartment to confront him, she finds the body of a girl on his bed. She threatens him with a gun but is unable to kill him. Desperate, she points the pistol at herself.

publication

The film premiered at the Hof International Film Festival in 2006. In 2009, the film was shown in German cinemas by the distributor epix and released on DVD with the subtitle “Only dead he can love you” . At the first Heimspiel film festival in Regensburg in October 2009, the film was shown in the "special screenings" section. criticism

“To love” is a film about a person far beyond the norm, a creature full of tragedy that is nothing but repulsive. Independent cinema with edges and corners that gets under your skin and remains in your memory for a long time. "

"With" Lieben - only dead he can love you "(D, 2006), Rouven Blankenfeld created a necrophilia shocker of the very highest quality. Hard on the taste limit, but played excellently, atmospherically dense and exciting. "
