Lieselotte Clemens

Lieselotte Clemens , b. Röker (born February 2, 1920 in Berlin ; † December 4, 2011 in Malente ) was a German writer and non-fiction author.

She grew up in Priemhausen in the Naugard district in Pomerania , where her father Emanuel Röker had been a pastor since 1914. Here she also got to know and love the Low German language . After high school in Stargard in Pomerania she studied in Berlin music. She married the doctor Joachim Clemens, who died in Belgium in January 1945. After the Second World War she came to Schleswig-Holstein , where, after further studies, she worked as a music teacher at the Carl-Maria-von-Weber-School in Eutin from 1966 to 1980 . She lived and died in Malente .

Lieselotte Clemens published, also in Low German, poems and stories about her Pomeranian homeland, which came to Poland after the Second World War. She also researched and wrote about the emigration of Pomerania to North America in the 19th century, especially to Freistadt (Wisconsin) .
