Heinrich Rudolph Schmidt (born August 30, 1814 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † 1867 in Elbing ) was a German high school teacher.

Life

Schmidt attended the Kneiphöfische Gymnasium , from which he graduated from high school at Easter 1833 . He enrolled at the Albertus University in Königsberg for natural sciences , physics and chemistry . He became a member of the Pappenhemia . In the pages of memory (Schmiedeberg) a student watercolor portrait of "Sir Sidney" has been preserved. He finished his studies at Easter 1837 and was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . As a teacher at the St. Johann School in Danzig , he taught natural sciences and physics in all classes from 1839 to 1852. He set up a natural history cabinet to which he himself contributed many insects , birds and minerals . From Danzig he was appointed director of the secondary school for girls in Elbing . There he died at the age of 53.
