The sheets of memory are portraits that Wilhelm Schmiedeberg drew of students at the Albertus University in Königsberg.

history

The album was bought in 1925 from the library of the Association of Old Corps Students in Frankfurt am Main from an English private collection and looked through by John Koch . In 1935 some portraits were included in the last list of members of the Corps Littuania . Despite all this, forgotten and unknown, the album appeared in antiquarian bookshops in May 2012 with the stamp of ownership deleted . It was auctioned by members of the Corps Masovia Königsberg zu Potsdam and acquired by the German Society for University Studies .

The 167 drawings that have been preserved were made between 1835 and 1839. The fellow students were members of the Pappenhemia , the Hochhemia , the Corpsland teams and a still unknown Polonia . Are also available Masonic Totengedenken, three unknown Studentenwappen , a landscape motif , two portraits of women and a pencil sketch .

With the biographical information, the pages of memory are a unique and important portrait collection in terms of culture , art and student history . The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg presented the book to the public on July 19, 2013.
