The Liffey River is a river in the north of the Australian state of Tasmania .

geography

River course

The river has its source on the southern slopes of Projection Bluff , a mountain in the Cluan Tiers , around three kilometers north of the Great Lake , directly on the Lake Highway (A5). It crosses under the highway, first flows east-northeast, falls over the Liffey Falls , flows through the settlement of Liffey and continues its course to the small town of Bracknell at the foot of the mountains. There it turns north-northeast and flows into the Meander River about two kilometers north of the small town of Carrick .
