Liga Mexicana de Fútbol Femenil

Liga Mexicana de Fútbol Femenil , also known as Limeffe for short , is the national top division in Mexican women's football that was introduced before the 2007/08 season .

Competition mode

As in the top division in Mexican men's football , the season is divided into two halves, in each of which a champion is determined. The tournament held in the first half of a season is called Apertura and takes place in the second half of a calendar year. The tournament held in the second half of a season is called Clausura and takes place in the first half of the following calendar year. The first 2007/08 season thus consisted of a Torneo Apertura 2007 and a Torneo Clausura 2008 . The next season consisted of a Torneo Apertura 2008 and a Torneo Clausura 2009 , and so on.
