Light Corporation is an instrumental group from the field of avant-garde and progressive rock . history

The creation and first recordings (2007-2010)

The Light Corporation group was established in 2007. It was founded by Mariusz Sobański, who is a composer and producer of records with progressive music and avant-garde jazz and rock. In the same year, as part of the preparations for the concerts in Great Britain , the group independently released the EP Back Up Session (2007).

In 2008, the first audiovisual edition of Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt was released, which included multimedia from concerts and unique films from videotapes prepared for the band.

Rare Dialect (2011)

On August 10, 2011, the group released their debut album, Rare Dialect , which garnered positive reviews from music critics both around the world. In addition to Sobański ( electric guitar ), Robert Bielak ( violin ), Michał Fetler ( baritone saxophone ), Miłosz Krauz ( drums ), Michał Pijewski ( tenor saxophone ), Tomasz Struk ( fretless bass ) and Marcin Szczęsny ( synthesizer , Fender Rhodes ) took part in his recording ) part. The plate was under the renowned music label from London RER MegaCorp , that Recommended Records Chris Cutler (u. A. Henry Cow , Cassiber , Pere Ubu , The Residents sold), with the Light Coorporation contact by Henry Palczewski which an owner of the Polish, independent Distribution and publishing company "ARS" 2 is. The beginning of the collaboration with Recommended Records was a great success for the group. Until now, the only Polish band that recorded a record for Cutler in the 1980s was Reportaż. Rare Dialect was recorded at Vintage Records studio. The old Studer A807 analog preamps , compressors, amplifiers and cassette recorders , which formerly belonged to the Polish Radio, were used in the recordings . The musicians aimed both at achieving the sound that was characteristic of long plays from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as achieving authenticity and naturalness. For this reason, various noises that suddenly appeared in the course of sound recording such as B. cracking noises or noise left. The concern for the sound of good quality and the use of older generation recording equipment left its mark on the other albums of this band.

Aliens from Planet Earth (2012)

On June 20, 2012, almost a year after Rare Dialect was released , Light Corporation presented their second album Aliens from Planet Earth . It was also released by Recommended Records, but was made by Mariusz Sobański (electric guitar and baritone violoncello ), Robert Bielak (violin), Miłosz Krauz (drums), Paweł Rogoża (tenor saxophone and Korg Kaossilator Pro - an instrument that is continuously processing the Tons made possible, which is currently being released), Krzysztof Waśkiewicz ( electric bass and tape recorder ) recorded. The music he brought out was recorded at the performance in the water tower in Konin in the gallery of the center of culture and art "Water Tower", which gave the piece of music contained in the record a very spatial, clear and natural lament. Even the music has become freer and more improvised. It is less concrete, but has become more picturesque and psychedelic than on the debut. A second audiovisual edition was released under the title Aliens from Planet Earth , which was saved in DVD format. Similar to Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt , she has shown that the concerts of Light Corporation form a combination of music and film showing, in the atmosphere of independent film , in the style of video art and often in the convention of a black and white document are complied with. In the course of the projection, the visual materials are transferred directly. These materials consist of fragments of films, archived videotapes, and photographs depicting the world today. While the concerts are being played, the image engages in a strange dialogue with the music. An effect through the picture and through the sound, an addition of mood starting from reefs including to silence should make the listeners thoughtful.

about (2013)

The third record by Light Corporation, titled about , was released on May 30, 2013. Its publisher, like the other two, was Recommended Records. This time twelve people took part in the recordings, which was done with a different sound. In addition to musicians from previous records, i.e. Sobański (guitar, Fender Rhodes), Szczęsny (synthesizer, Fender Rhodes), Struk (electric bass), Rogoża (tenor saxophone), Pijewski (tenor saxophone), Krauz (drums), Fetler (baritone saxophone) and Bielak (violin) also played Kuba Jankowiak ( trumpet ), Barbara Kucharska ( flute ), Piotr Oses ( double bass ) and Daniel Pabierowski (tenor saxophone). Compositions created by Sobański were also preserved in the vintage spirit this time, the album was concretized here. It held the essence of the debut and, as before, garnered flattering reviews from around the world.

Chapter IV - Before the Murmur of Silence (2014)

On October 6, 2014, Light Corporation announced that the fourth record would be titled Chapter IV - Before the Murmur of Silence and, like the last three, would be published by RēR Megacorp. The album was released on December 4, 2014 and was composed of Mariusz Sobański (electric guitar and baritone violoncello), Paweł Rogoża (tenor saxophone), Kuba Jankowiak (trumpet), Witold Oleszak ( piano ), Piotr Oses (double bass), Krzysztof Waśkiewicz (Electric bass) and Miłosz Krauz (drums, percussion instruments ).
