Lili Haydn (born December 25, 1969 in Toronto ) is a Canadian musician, composer and actress.

Life

She is the daughter of actress Lotus Weinstock with video artist David Jove . She was a child actress and after her first appearances in commercials from 1977 on, she took on various roles in film and television between 1979 and 1987, including a leading role in the short-lived crime series Mrs. Columbo as the daughter of the title character. Later her appearances as an actress became rare.

At the age of eight she discovered her passion for the violin and concentrated on classical music. In 1990 she made her musical stage debut. After graduating from Brown University with a bachelor's degree in political science in 1992, she began composing her own pieces of music and became one of the most sought-after session musicians in the Los Angeles area . When she signed her first record deal with Atlantic in 1997, she had already made recordings with the Los Angeles Philharmonic , Josh Groban , Porno for Pyros , Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan , Hootie & the Blowfish , Tom Petty and Robert Plant and Jimmy Page . In addition, she has had with Sting , Herbie Hancock , Brandy , Tony! Toni! Toné! , No Doubt and Practice played. George Clinton called her "the Jimi Hendrix on the violin".

In 2001 she had an appearance as a street musician in the sitcom Dharma & Greg (ep. 5.05, bed and breakfast).
