Lilja Horisna ( Ukrainian Ліля Горішна , scientific transliteration Lilja Horišna ; born December 28, 1994 ) is a Ukrainian wrestler . In 2019 she became vice European champion in the weight class up to 53 kg.

Career

Lilja Horischna started wrestling as a teenager in 2003. She belongs to the sports club "Spartak" Lviv . She was or is mainly trained by Wladimir Rakowski and Anatoli Milechin. She is 1.63 meters tall.

Lilja Horischna took part in an international championship for the first time at the age of fourteen and a half, the Junior European Championship for the age group “Cadets” in Zrenjanin. She took 5th place in the weight class up to 46 kg. In August 2011 she won the bronze medal at the Junior European Championships (Cadets) in Warsaw in the weight class up to 52 kg for the first time at an international championship.

In the following years she won medals again and again at the international championships in the junior division ("Juniors" and "U 23"). In 2015 in Walbrzych and 2017 in Szombathely she was even U23 European champion in the weight class up to 53 kg.

In 2014 she started in Vantaa for the first time at a European championship for women. In the weight class up to 53 kg, however, she lost in the qualification against Ewelina Nikolova from Bulgaria, dropped out and only came in 15th place. In 2015 she was used in the same weight class at the European Games in Baku. There she came to a victory over Vania Gomes Guerreiro from Portugal, lost to Roksana Zasina from Poland, defeated Nadine Tokar from Switzerland and suffered a narrow defeat against Nadeschad Schuschko from Belarus in the battle for one of the bronze medals. It took 5th place. In September 2015, Lilija Horischna was also used at the World Championships in Las Vegas. She won there over Giulia Rodriguez Penealber de Oliveira from Brazil, but retired after a defeat in her next fight against Odunayo Adekuoroye from Nigeria and came in 13th place.

In April 2016, Lilja Horischna tried to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in Ulaan Baatar. In the weight class up to 53 kg she came in 5th place, which was not enough for the qualification.

In April 2019, Lilja Horischna managed to become Vice European Champion in the weight class up to 53 kg in Bucharest. On the way, she defeated Tatjana Debien from France, Silje Knutsen Kippernes from Norway and Jessica Blaszka from the Netherlands. In the final she lost to Stalwira Orschusch from Russia.
