Lilium xanthellum ( Chinese 鄉城 百合 / 乡城 百合 , Pinyin Xiāngchéng bǎihé ) is a species from the genus of lilies ( Lilium ) in the Asian section . It was first described in 1986 .
description
Lilium xanthellum reaches a height of 35 to 55 cm. The onions are four to five inches tall and yellow.
The stem is rather tender, it is thickly covered with small scales that cannot be seen with the naked eye. The leaves are linear (grass-like), up to 8 mm long and up to 0.3 mm wide, the edge slightly bent and papilous . They are freely distributed around the stem.
The plant blooms in June with a single flower or a pair of flowers. The hermaphrodite flowers are threefold. The six similarly shaped petals ( tepals ) are strongly bent back ( turkish collar shape ) and up to 6 mm long. The basic color of the flowers is yellowish with or without purple points. Each flower contains three carpels and six stamens. The pollen is brown and the filaments are green. The seed germinates instantly - epigeously .

Lilium xanthellum is native to the west of the Sichuan province , but is also very rarely found in the Hubei , Shaanxi and Yunnan provinces of the People's Republic of China . It grows on rocky slopes and valleys in mixed forests in open, fresh, partially shaded locations at altitudes between 3200 and 4000 m above sea level. NN.
