Limelight Networks was founded in 2001 in Tempe, Arizona, USA as a provider of a content delivery network . In July 2006, the company entered into equity financing of $ 130 million with a group of investors led by Goldman Sachs . The following year, Limelight Networks raised $ 240 million on its first IPO when 16 million shares were sold at $ 15. Limelight operates a CDN. Possible uses are:

  1. Content delivery: Some companies use the Limelight Networks CDN for their online communications. US presidential elections or the Olympic Games were brought to the public in partnership with Limelight Networks.
  2. Website performance: The Orchestrate performance package includes measures at the browser and network level to reduce the loading times of websites, e.g. B. dynamic front-end acceleration, code optimization, automatic prioritization of content and intelligent image compression .
