features
The tangled sea lavender is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 10 to 40 centimeters. The leaves are up to 6 centimeters long, oblong-lanceolate , gray-green, three-veined at the base and have a small cartilage tip . They are arranged in rosettes . The stem is stiff, wingless and branched in the upper part. Sterile branches are often present. The chalice is 6 millimeters and whitish. The 5 calyx teeth are broadly triangular. The crown is large and light purple.
The flowering period extends from July to October.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 27.
Occurrence
The tangled sea lavender occurs in salt marshes in Sardinia .
