Linamar Corporation is a Canadian publicly traded automotive supplier headquartered in Guelph , Ontario . Linamar is the second largest Canadian automotive supplier after Magna International . The company supplies parts and components for various automobile manufacturers as well as industry. The company has several production plants in North America, Europe and Asia and employs around 25,700 people worldwide, including over 9300 in Canada. In 59 production centers, six development and engineering departments and 17 sales offices in Canada, USA, Germany, Hungary, Great Britain, South Korea and China. In 2016, the company generated $ 6 billion.
history
The company was founded on August 17, 1966 by Frank Hasenfratz as Linamar Machine Limited in Ariss, Ontario. The name of Linamar goes to his two daughters Li nda and Na ncy and his wife Mar garet back.
In 1996, the interests in Portage Manufacturing and Western Combine Corporation were sold to AGCO . In 2015, the Plettenberg forge company Seissenschmidt was taken over in Germany.
