In 2010 the population was 27,253 at the census . The place has been officially known since 1923 under the name Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst.
history
The settlement founded in 1873 was originally named "Breslau" because the first settlers came from Breslau in Silesia . In 1891 the parish was renamed Lindenhurst.
