Lindholm is a Danish island north of the island of Møn in the Stege Bugt . The island is seven hectares and has been uninhabited since the late 1990s. The island is home to the Virus Research Department of the Veterinary Institute of Denmark's Technical University . Entering the island is prohibited.

The island belongs to the parish parish ( Danish : Sogn ) Stege Sogn , which belonged to Harde Mønbo Herred in what was then Præstø Amt until 1970 , then to Møn Kommune in what was then Storstrøms Amt , which became part of Vordingborg Kommune in Vordingborg Commune in the Sjælland region has risen.

In 2018, the right-wing liberal minority government under Lars Løkke Rasmussen had planned to close the veterinary institute's branch in January 2019 and to accommodate asylum seekers who have to leave Denmark on the island from 2021. After the Folketing Elections in 2019 , however, the "Red Bloc", an alliance of social democrats, social liberals and socialists, decided in its coalition agreement to drop the previous government's Lindholm plans.
