Lisa S. Disbrow is an American administrative officer and served as acting Secretary of the Air Force from January 20, 2017 to May 16, 2017 . She replaced Deborah Lee James and was the third woman in that office. After confirmation by the Senate, Heather Wilson took office on May 16, 2017.

Lisa Disbrow has a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville since 1984 , a Master of Arts in International Affairs from George Washington University in Washington, DC since 1990 , and a Master of Science in National Security from National War College in 2002 Strategy . From 1985 to 1992 she was an active soldier in the US Air Force and from 1993 to 1995 she worked as a systems specialist in the National Reconnaissance Office , Washington, DC. She holds the rank of colonel in the Air Reserve .

She then worked at the Pentagon from 1995 to 2006 before moving to the White House as a policy advisor to the National Security Council . She then moved back to the General Staff from 2007 to 2014. In 2016 she first became Under Secretary of the Air Force , and on January 20, 2017, she was appointed Acting Secretary of the Air Force in the Trump administration .
