Lisa Jakub

Lisa Jakub (born December 27, 1978 in Toronto ) is a Canadian actress .

Life

Jakub played her first role in 1985 at the age of seven in the film Eleni, starring Kate Nelligan and John Malkovich . This was followed by minor appearances in television series such as The Twilight Zone . She became known to a large audience in 1993 through her role as Lydia Hillard in the American film Mrs. Doubtfire - The Prickly Nanny with Robin Williams and Sally Field . Another big audience role followed in 1996 as Alicia Casse in Independence Day with Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum . Other films were less successful. Her last role for the time being she played in 2000 in an American television series.

She was nominated at the Young Artist Awards in 1992 for The Lust of the Beautiful Rose and in 1995 for Mrs. Doubtfire .

Jakub's big breakthrough as a film actress was denied. She withdrew into private life in 2000 and no longer sought film or television roles. In February 2013, she posted on her website that she was considering entering the film business again.

In 2005 she married her American husband in Italy. She lives childless in Virginia and has published two books.
