Lisa Kretschmar (born December 19, 1918 in Eibenstock , † December 14, 1988 in Mannheim ) was a German dancer and choreographer .

Life

Lisa Kretschmar completed a theater dance degree with Günter Hess in Chemnitz , she also learned classical ballet in the Studio Wacker Paris and modern dance in the Laban School in Frankfurt am Main . As early as 1934 she danced at the Central-Theater Chemnitz, then from 1935 to 1937 in Wuppertal and from 1937 to 1939 in Hanover . From 1939 to 1943 she performed with Hess at numerous duo evenings at home and abroad.

In 1946 she began a career as a solo dancer in the subject "expressive dance" and went on several tours. In 1950 she was accepted by Hans von Kusserow into the newly created ballet ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen . She then moved to the Heidelberg Municipal Theaters as a ballet master. From 1953 to 1956 she was ballet director at the Nationaltheater Mannheim , where she brought the complete version of Schwanensee on stage in her own choreography as the first German post-war performance . From 1956 to 1959 she was a choreographer for Herbert Maisch , the director of the Cologne City Theater .

In 1963 Lisa Kretschmar founded the "Academy of Dance" at the Mannheim-Heidelberg State University of Music , where she was a professor until 1980 and headed the dance department until 1982.

Act

As a dancer she embodied Swanhilde in Coppélia , Bride in The Kiss of the Fairy , Sphinx in Oedipus and the Sphinx , the title character in Sleeping Beauty , Ballerine in Petrushka , Nightingale in The Chinese Nightingale , Black in Ballet of Colors , the Swan Princess in Swan Lake and Agathe in Les demoiselles de la nuit .

As a choreographer she created numerous other works besides Swan Lake , including the German premiere of Henri Sauguet's Les demoiselles de la nuit in Cologne in 1955 , as well as the Dance of Death of the Living , The Red Thread , The Imaginary Sick , The Chinese Nightingale , Ballet of Colors and Peter and the Wolf . In 1961 she choreographed the staged version of a work by Hans Werner Henze in Heidelberg : Das Vokaltuch der Kammersängerin Rosa Silber , an exercise with Stravinsky on a picture by Paul Klee .
