The Alliance List Burgenland (LBL) is a party in the Austrian state of Burgenland that was represented in the state parliament from 2010 to 2020 . According to its own account, it sees itself as "an amalgamation of independent lists of names and citizens 'initiatives as well as the Free Citizens' List Burgenland into an election platform" and has set itself the goal of ending the "SPÖ rush of power" that it claims.

It was founded as the Free Citizens List (FBL), later the Burgenland List , an amalgamation of citizen lists of the same name from Burgenland municipalities. This continues to exist parallel to the LBL party. The 2007 by the former Burgenland Freedom Party member of parliament , Wolfgang Rauter and Manfred Kölly founded "movement" Goals of the municipal elections in Burgenland 2007 Burgenland 30 mandates in Burgenland borough councils and rose to the communities in Burgenland's fourth-strongest force. In Deutschkreutz the FBL became the party with the strongest vote, Manfred Kölly was also confirmed as mayor of Deutschkreutz.

In 2010 , the FBL founded the Alliance List Burgenland movement together with other lists of names , with which Kölly also succeeded in entering the state parliament. In 2015 he was able to enter the state parliament again, this time with two mandates. The second MP Gerhard Hutter resigned from the LBL in February 2019. In the 2020 election , the LBL received only 1.3% and left the state parliament.

Formation of the FBL and municipal council elections 2007

Election results of the Free Citizen List in the 2007 municipal council election

The free citizen lists were founded in March 2007 after internal quarrels in the FPÖ. In December 2006, a "secret paper" was published that had been signed between the FPÖ and the SPÖ before the 2005 state elections. The secret paper laid down guidelines for cooperation between the two parties after the elections and promised members of the FPÖ important posts. The mayor of Deutschkreutz, Manfred Kölly , was excluded from the party as a signatory of the paper. This led to a deep split between the supporters of Kölly and state party leader Johann Tschürtz . At the special party convention of the FPÖ Burgenland on March 7, 2007, the FPÖ threatened to vote against the party chairman Johann Tschürtz and the former club boss Wolfgang Rauter. However, Rauter surprisingly withdrew his candidacy at the special party conference.

After the special party conference on March 12, 2007, Manfred Kölly announced the establishment of the "Free Citizens List - Manfred Kölly". All FPÖ councilors and other officials joined the list of names of the mayor of Deutschkreutz. On March 14, 2007, Wolfgang Rauter founded the “Free Citizens List” platform. At this point in time, Rauter already had commitments from 21 municipalities to run for election to the municipal council. The FBL eventually competed in 53 of the 170 parishes. Numerous mandataries of the FPÖ had switched to the FBL. The FBL won 30 seats in the municipal council elections.

LBL since 2010

For the state elections in 2010 , the Free Citizens List, together with other lists of names, entered the Burgenland list . It reached 4,0003 percent of the vote and thus exceeded the hurdle required for entry into the state parliament by one vote. This allowed Manfred Kölly to move into the state parliament as the top candidate of the LBL.

The Burgenland List (LBL) includes numerous citizen lists from all over the state. Since the municipal council elections in 2012 , the LBL has provided mayors in two municipalities ( Deutschkreutz , Bad Sauerbrunn ) and around 100 councilors. Thus the LBL is the third strongest political force in Burgenland (at the municipal level).

In the state elections in 2015 , the LBL and the Stronach team competed under the name Bündnis Liste Burgenland (LBL), again the mayor of Deutschkreutz, Manfred Kölly, was the top candidate. She was able to increase her share of the vote to 4.82% and won two mandates.

Program and goals

The Alliance List Burgenland sees itself as a grassroots democratic movement that does not have a fixed program, but rather works out objectives in working groups. These build on various basic positions. The basic positions include justice and equal treatment of all people, the commitment to the performance society and the rejection of minimum income, transparency of political decision-making, the economical use of tax revenue, a restrictive policy on foreigners, the rejection of current EU policy, the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises and promoting direct democracy.

The list formulated several demands for the municipal council elections in Burgenland in 2007. The FBL at that time advocated an end to the burden on community citizens and sought to improve the quality of life in the communities. It also calls for the equal treatment of all community citizens and transparency and frugality in community policy.
