List of architectural monuments in Aura an der Saale
The monuments of the Lower Franconian community of Aura are compiled on this page . This table is a partial list of the list of architectural monuments in Bavaria . The basis is the Bavarian Monument List , which was first drawn up on the basis of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act of October 1, 1973 and has since been managed by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . The following information does not replace the legally binding information from the monument protection authority. This list reflects the update status of April 15, 2020 and contains 22 architectural monuments.
Architectural monuments according to districts
Aura on the Saale
The following parts of the former Benedictine monastery have been preserved:
- Former Benedictine monastery church, now the Catholic parish church of St. Laurentius: three-aisled pillar basilica with retracted choir and eastern choir tower with onion dome, in the core 1108–13, around 1600 increase of the nave and tower, 1687–1697 partly abandoned, partly changed, 1742–1745 redesigned; with equipment ( location ).
- Former monastery building: two-storey solid building with gable roof, stone masonry, on the ground floor formerly the chapter house with groin vault, 12th / 13th century. Century, in the chapter house stone table and Romanesque capital with square top, 12th century ( location ).
- Former monastery building: two-story, L-förger saddle roof building, stone masonry and half-timbered, in the core 12th / 13th. Century, changed first quarter of the 17th century ( location ).
- Remains of the former Romanesque cloister, sandstone, reassembled around 1110, 1874 ( location ).
- Remains of the former monastery wall: stone masonry, in the core 12/13. Century ( location ).

Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
