The German Vaulting Youth Championships (DJM) are the most important national competition between all regional associations of the German Equestrian Association (FN) for junior groups and junior individual vaulters. The DJM have been held annually since 2008. The individual competition is judged separately by gender.

Start authorization

In 2008, the junior performance class was included in the German tournament rules, the performance test regulations (LPO) . The following age restrictions apply: In order to take part in a team competition, a starter may not be more than 18 years old. A minimum age of 12 and a maximum of 18 years are required to take part in the individual competition. The limit is reached in the current calendar year. Since 2009, the additional restriction has been in place for individual vaulters that they may never have participated in a German championship as a single vaulted person.

The allocation of starting places is based on a quota system: Each regional association has a basic quota of three groups and around 5 individual vaulters that it is allowed to send to the DJM. An additional quota is determined by the number of vaulters registered with the FN: A national association receives an additional starting place for every full 70 groups and every full 20 individual vaulters. Within the regional associations, the participants are determined and officially nominated within the framework of viewing tournaments.
