Reformation time
- 1540–1550 Thomas Thirlby
Henry VIII gave Thirlby this newly created office with the cathedral Westminster Abbey after the separation of the English Church from Rome ; it was not reoccupied after 1550. So this diocese of Westminster was Anglican. Thirlby later contributed to the re-Catholicization of Mary I , but as Bishop of Norwich and Ely.
