The tallest skyscrapers in Lörrach (the numbers refer to the table below)
The first high-rise buildings in Lörrach: the residential high-rise buildings in Schützenwaldweg from 1954 (here in a photo from 1960)

The list of high-rise buildings in Loerrach performs in Loerrach existing high-rise buildings on from a structural height of 30 meters. The towers of churches, technical structures such as chimneys, radio or overhead line masts are recorded separately. The tallest building in the city that is not used for residential purposes is the KBC chimney at 85 meters on the textile company's premises.

Situation and history

In an absolute domestic comparison , the high-rise buildings in Lörrach are low. However, if one takes into account, on the one hand, the fact that in a regional comparison of the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, at best, it occupies a middle place in Germany for the construction of tall houses and the fact that Lörrach is only a medium- sized town with just under 50,000 inhabitants , the stock of tall houses is remarkable. In direct comparison with the high-rise buildings of the state capital Stuttgart , the state capital has significantly more high-rise buildings and a significantly higher density of structures between 60 and 70 meters. However, Lörrach holds the height record between the two cities with the town hall tower, which is also the highest town hall building in the country.

Nevertheless, until the end of the 1970s, with five houses over 40 meters, the number was relatively clear. It spread over the city area. With the construction of the high-rise on Chesterplatz in 2005, another high-rise was added and, at the latest, since the inner-city construction of the Steigenberger Hotel Stadt Lörrach east of the Lörrach main station in 2017 , a rethink began that the scarce living space could be countered not only by densification but also by building a moderate high-rise can.
