bridge Doberschwitz
(map)
1st half of the 19th century Quarry stone arch bridge over the Dorfbach, documents the old local structure, of architectural and local historical value.

Small one-yoke stone arch bridge with a straight lane to cross a field path over the village stream, possibly 19th century (no name on the bridge). These simple, technically undemanding bridges were part of almost every village in the past centuries. More and more of these small structures are being lost due to floods and road construction work, so that those that have been preserved are of great historical importance. They shape the townscape, at the same time they are evidence of the village structure and rural building trade. (LFD / 2011.)

Manor house of a farm Doberschwitz 1
(map)
around 1900 Distinctive, Wilhelminian-style plastered building of architectural quality, unusual architecture for the community as well as regional and architectural significant.

Manor house of the largest farm in town, probably built around 1890. The estate probably belonged to the Däweritz farmers in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Ernst Friedrich Däweritz (1839–1914) gained importance as the builder of the mansion-like house. He was the son of the horse man and local judge Georg Ernst Däweritz. Ernst Friedrich Däweritz, deputy chairman from 1886 to 1900 and chairman until 1906 of the Conservative Association for Leisnig, to which he had been a member since its foundation, represented the 26th rural constituency in the second chamber of the Saxon state parliament between 1899 and 1909.

The representative villa-like house is a two-storey plastered building with a rectangular floor plan with a central projection. The facade is structured by a circumferential cornice, plaster grooves, horizontal window canopies and segmental arch canopies. The balcony on the front side of the house, supported by columns, is distinctive. The architectural quality of the house is the reason for the architectural value of this cultural monument, which is both regional and architectural significant as evidence of a prosperous agriculture of the 19th century in this landscape area and the beginning urbanization of the rural houses in the late 19th century (LfD / 2011. )

  • two-storey, classical plaster structure, original walls, new windows
  • Side building: solid, two-storey, porphyry walls, gable roof

Wooden mill: mill
Wooden mill: mill Doberschwitz 4A
(map)
1781 Of architectural and local significance.

The original grinding, oil and cutting mill was mentioned as early as 1548. Burned down in 1781 and then rebuilt. Later used as a grain and grist mill, now a residential building. Mill technology (millstones) partially preserved, but no longer water wheel.

Two-story Mühlernwohnhaus, solid ground floor, upper floor only half-timbered on the gable side, steep pitched roof. The former seating niche portal made of Rochlitz porphyry tufa (possibly from the previous building) has been preserved on the eaves facing away. In the building on the ground floor there are partly cross vaults. A farm building attached to the gable side, also two-storey in half-timbered construction, belongs to the property. The monument value results from the site and building historical value due to the function and the high age and authenticity. (LFD / 2011)

Schössermühle: mill and side building Doberschwitz 7
(map)
A. 19th century Of importance in terms of the history of the site and technology, a system that shapes the site.

Mill building and side building of a grinding and sawmill, including the mill building, also a residential building, built in 1823. The mill building has a significant impact on the townscape due to its location and size, but also due to its intact half-timbered construction on the upper floor. The originally preserved building is completed by a high hipped roof with bat dormers. The side building is a solid building from the late 19th century with a gently sloping gable roof, which has also been handed down in good original condition. The mill technology was retained. In 1950 the changeover from water power to electric drive took place. The mill was renovated in 2001 in accordance with a listed building. The monument value arises from the regional historical significance based on its history of use as well as from the architectural historical value of both buildings as typical buildings of the time they were built. (LfD / 2011)

1950 Conversion from water power to electric drive, grinding mill and sawmill preserved, mill technology available, mill was renovated around 2001.

Herforth-Mühle: Former mill with mill house, barn and side building Doberschwitz 10
(map)
17th century Of local and technical historical importance, Renaissance seat niche portal on the residential building, of architectural historical value.

Built as a grinding mill in the 16th century, of which the preserved portal walls on the house are evidence. The takeover of the mill by the second owner in 1670 is documented.

  • Residential building: solid ground floor with porphyry portal, upper floor half-timbered (plastered),
  • Side building: solid ground floor, upper floor half-timbered (plastered).
  • Barn: massive with old roof, extension on the courtyard side without monument value.

No mill technology received. The mill building was converted into a residential building. The house ensemble of the mill impressively shapes the townscape. As a former mill, the complex was of regional historical importance. The old age of the house and the authenticity (this also applies to the farm buildings) explain the importance of the building history. (LfD / 2011)

Cottage property Doberschwitz 11
(map)
around 1700 Old half-timbered construction with a Thuringian ladder motif on the upper floor, of architectural value.

Small cottage property, built around 1700, later slightly remodeled structurally. Ground floor and gable massively replaced, half-timbered construction on the upper floor with a so-called “Thuringian ladder” with head brace. Finished with a gable roof. The old age of the house and the relatively rare half-timbered construction in this house landscape explain the historical value of the house. (LfD / 2011)
