List of cultural monuments in the Meiningen parks

The list of cultural monuments in the Meiningen parks includes the cultural monuments in the parks of the district town of Meiningen in southern Thuringia .

A total of around 240 individual monuments , 16 monument ensembles , 8 ground monuments and 3 garden monuments are currently registered in Meiningen (as of February 2010). The registration of all monuments in the list of monuments of the Lower Monument Protection Authority in Meiningen has not yet been completed. The list does not claim to be complete.

English garden	monument	War memorial for the Meiningen fallen in the Franco-Prussian War 1870/71, erected in 1878 by Erwin Theodor Döbner , who removed the Prussian eagle that once crowned the column in 1949 by iconoclasts .
English garden	monument	Monument to Duke Bernhard II , inaugurated in 1903 , bronze statue destroyed by iconoclasts in 1949.
English garden	church	Neo-Gothic ducal crypt chapel, built in 1839 according to plans by August Wilhelm Döbner .
English garden	Artificial ruins	Shortly after the park was laid out in 1793/94, artificial ruins of a Gothic castle with bridge, main house, gates and platforms, located at the entrance in Leipziger Strasse, architect Johann Andreas Schaubach .

Marienstrasse	Fountain	Swan fountain: Cast iron fountain with two water-spouting swans from 1835, at a south entrance to the English Garden.
Park cemetery Berliner Strasse 13-17	Tomb	The tomb of Duke Georg II and Helene Freifrau von Heldburg , it is the work of the sculptor Adolf von Hildebrand .
Castle Park	bridge	Arched bridge : Steel truss arched bridge with iron-cast iron railing over the Werra , built in 1882/83 according to plans by Eduard Fritze , renovated and reconstructed in 1991/92.
Karlsallee Palace Park	bridge	Green Bridge: Stone arch bridge with two arches and iron-cast iron railing at Burg-Erlig over both → Bleichgräben.
Karlsallee Palace Park	bridge	Steel truss arch bridge with iron art cast railing over the merged Bleichgraben, architect: Eduard Fritze.

Soil monuments - garden monuments

Bleaching trenches	City fortifications, park	Ground monument : Two parallel moats with a wall in between, in front of the former city wall, surrounds the eastern and northern parts of the old town. Originally the complex consisted of three trenches and two ramparts. Exists today as a green belt with a promenade and avenue around the old town.
English garden	graveyard	Ground monument: old cemetery , cemetery in the south of the English Garden used until the mid-19th century, numerous preserved tombstones and monuments.
English garden	Park	Garden monument : English landscape park of around twelve hectares , created from 1782.
Herrenberg	Forest park	Ground monument: Historic park, laid out at the end of the 17th century, converted into a forest park from the 19th century.
Park cemetery Berliner Strasse 13-17	graveyard	Garden monument: cemetery laid out from 1835 to 1838 with a neo-Gothic entrance building, expanded several times and designed as an English landscape park at the end of the 19th century.
Castle Park	Park	Garden monument: English landscape park, initially laid out as a baroque garden from 1692 to 1770 .
