August Wilhelm Döbner (born April 8, 1805 in Meiningen , † December 20, 1871 in Meiningen) was a German architect of historicism .

After studying in Göttingen and Munich, from 1830 he was a construction officer in the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen (under Duke Bernhard II ). He built numerous neo-Gothic village churches in the vicinity of Meiningen and Hildburghausen . As the first major project, he took over the construction management of the first Meiningen court theater . His largest building, however, was Landsberg Castle in Meiningen.

Döbner was also active as an art writer. In 1840, for example, he described the iron monuments of the Counts of Henneberg by Peter Vischer in the Römhild collegiate church. From 1864 to 1871 he was secretary and curator at the Hennebergischer Altertumsforschenden Verein (HAV).

Döbner's son Erwin Theodor Döbner also worked as an architect. Döbner's brother Hermann Friedrich was a spa doctor in Bad Liebenstein.
