history
The church in Dreianzigacker is the successor to an atonement church built in 1525 . This church was pillaged in the Thirty Years' War in 1641, but was rebuilt in 1656. The previous church became dilapidated in the 19th century, so that a new building was necessary.
In the years 1862 and 1863, the new church was built in neo-Gothic style according to plans by the architect and senior building officer August Wilhelm Döbner . The church was consecrated under the name “To the Mercy of God” on December 22nd, 1863 in the presence of Duke Bernhard II of Saxony-Meiningen . The simple church was completely renovated inside and partially outside in 2004. In 2013 the parish of Drei 30sacker celebrated the 150th anniversary of its church with a festival program.
