Mendhausen is a district of the town of Römhild in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia.
geography
Mendhausen is located southwest of the city of Römhild on the Thuringian-Franconian border on a higher level of the Thuringian Rhön . The country road 3029 and County Road 508 connecting the city traffic as standard with the surrounding area.
history
Mendhausen was first mentioned in a document in 1156. In 1466 the Irmelshausen branch was separated from the Mendhausen parish and became an independent parish.
The community of Mendhausen merged on December 31, 2012 with the city of Römhild and other previously independent communities to form the new city of Römhild.
The Mönchshof district belonged to the community of Mendhausen .
