The city wall was built in the 14th century. On the inside of the city wall in the northern area there is a tower-like late Gothic building with a chamfered round arch portal, a small window above it and a large late Gothic window with bar garb on the upper floor.

The today inconspicuous building, erected in the 16th century around a trapezoidal courtyard, was included in the city fortifications. After severe damage in World War II, it was renovated in the 1950s.

The large, originally Gothic church with a retracted choir and pillars on the nave was renovated in the baroque style from 1740. In the bell storey, marked 1588 , of the tower, which has a Gothic core, is a Renaissance window. The furnishings include the high altar by Johann Sies from 1864, the side altars from the end of the 17th century, several large oil paintings and a late Gothic carved crucifix.

The large, late-Gothic three-nave church with buttresses was built in the first half of the 14th century and at the end of the 15th century the mighty, slightly protruding facade tower was added. It contains Carinthia's most extensive inventory of Gothic glass paintings. In the cross-rib vaulted choir is the mighty early baroque high altar, in the right side choir is a late Gothic winged altar. Outside and inside there are some heraldic gravestones from the 14th to 16th centuries. The Romanesque Karner is located in the formerly fortified cemetery with a baroque cemetery portal.

Large late baroque building. Mighty, projected west tower with a Gothic core, not in the axis of the nave, with baroque, arched sound openings, pointed roof. South two-storey sacristy extension with a south-facing gable facade. Semi-circular retracted apse . Late Gothic west portal pfiled, pinnacles on the side above figural niches, finial and crabs, tracery (fish bubbles) in the tympanum.

The castle ruin Painhof, also called Teufenbach, is a former late Gothic moated castle, which was only built after 1420 and was significantly expanded towards the end of the 15th century and in the first half of the 16th century. Significant remains of the wall, some of which are three-story, have been preserved. Remains of the old Painburg, the previous building, can still be seen within the castle.

From the castle, which was expanded to a large extent in the 14th century and decaying since the 17th century, parts of the fortress house (essentially the first half of the 12th century), the east wing (14th / 15th century), the mighty keep (13th century) and the southern Vorwerk. 300 meters north of it is a 14 meter high defense tower with 2 meter thick walls from the 14th century.
