Hörmann, one of the most important art carpenters of the early Baroque era in Germany, has belonged to the Jesuit colleges of Landsberg , Ingolstadt , Amberg , Regensburg , Straubing and Munich since 1672 . He worked for Jesuit institutions throughout Bavaria and designed furnishings for churches such as altars, confessionals and tabernacles. Stylistically close to the massive Italian Baroque, his altar structures convince with their clear lines, to which decorative elements such as flower garlands or acanthus are subordinate.
