The nave of the small hall church on a high rock pulpit was probably built in the first half of the 13th century, although the church was probably located in a castle that was destroyed in the 14th century . The floor plan of the two-bay church with two-bay choir and polygonal end shows a kink between the nave and the choir due to the location of the terrain.

The guard house is part of the Budweis – Linz – Gmunden horse-drawn railway , with guard houses being built at intervals of two to three kilometers to inspect and maintain the route.

The Church of Christ the Risen Christ was planned between 1994 and 1995 by the Arcade project group together with a pastoral care center. The postmodern style church is similar in plan to a triangular sail with a curved wall.
