The Primaresburg probably dates from the 10th century and was mentioned in a document in 1066. The remains of the wall are located on an artificially created plateau on the Franziskanerkogel west of Maria Lankowitz.

The Antonius Chapel was built by Bartolomeo Montiano in 1660–1661 at the same time as the churchyard wall , with a pointed barrel vault with an easterly turret. On the east facade in a niche a wooden statue of St. Dismas . The Antonius altar dates from the Rococo around 1770. The votive picture by Sigmund Friedrich Herberstein († 1621), kneeling in front of the crucifix, is attributed to Giovanni Pietro de Pomis .

From 1678 to 1681 the Styrian master builder Jakob Schmerlaib built a baroque building over the walls of the medieval church. The two side chapels were built in 1712. In the baroque high altar there is a carved Gothic figure of Mary with the child.

The Franciscan monastery was founded in 1455 by the knight Georg Gradner. Most of the monastery building was built between 1656 and 1665 by Bartolomeo Montiano using older parts. In the cloister courtyard there is a stone figure of Mary, kneeling on clouds, from the 2nd quarter of the 18th century. Some baroque paintings in the refectory.

Construction of Lankowitz Castle began in 1440 under knight Georg Gradner, and in 1459 the castle fell to Emperor Friedrich III. and in 1460 to Andreas Greißenegger . From 1511 to 1634 the castle belonged to the Herberstein family , then to the Stainz monastery . From 1855 the castle was used as a branch of the Graz-Karlau prison . The castle has been privately owned since the 1990s and is rented out for residential purposes.

The castle is now a three-storey four-wing building from the 16th and 17th centuries. Century, with a columned arcade courtyard with partially walled arches. Small roof turret over the entrance front. Formerly a wide moat around the entire castle.
