List of vehicles on the Centovalli Railway

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of vehicles on the Centovalli Railway shows the railway vehicles that have been used on the Centovalli Railway .

The Società subalpina di imprese ferroviarie (SSIF) and Ferrovie autolinee regionali ticinesi (FART) jointly operate the international trains on the Swiss Centovalli Railway and its Italian continuation to Domodossola. That is why most of the vehicles were used, at least temporarily, on the other company's route. The two companies also ensure that they do not assign duplicate numbers, whereby no number ranges belong to a specific company. Some vehicles also changed company without changing their number, because each vehicle number was only issued once from 1923 (the only exception is the leased vehicles for the LPB and STL, where numbers 1-3 were taken over twice) . The number 4 is the only one that was subsequently used for a second vehicle. The LPB Ge 2/2 , which had an accident in 1923 , had this number, which was then used in 1946 for one of the two Ce 2/4 (later Xe 2/4) that were taken over by the Altstätten – Berneck tram . Incidentally, it was also possible for the vehicles from the Locarnes tram (Società Tramvie Locarnesi) and, after the system change, the vehicles of the Locarno-Ponte-Brolla-Bignasco railway to run on the Centovalli railway. Both companies leased their routes and vehicles to FRT, which was responsible for operational management from 1923. After the two railway lines were closed, some vehicles were taken over by FART / SIFF.
