The Liston Nunatak is a large and around 2200 m high nunatak in the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises immediately northwest of Heintz Peak in the Welch Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped him in 1974. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1976 after Commander John M. Liston of the United States Navy , operational officer in support activities during Operation Deep Freeze in 1969 and officer in charge in the year 1970.
