The Heintz Peak is a 2200 m high mountain in Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 3 km north of Mount Acton at the northern end of the western ridge of the Welch Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it in 1974. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1976 by Lieutenant Commander Harvey Louis Heintz (1936-2016) of the United States Navy , commander of a Lockheed C-130 Hercules during Operation Deep Freeze of Years 1969 and 1970.
