Lisz Hirn (* 1984 as Elisabeth Katharina Hirn in Upper Styria ) is an Austrian philosopher , author and lecturer .

Live and act

Hirn studied philosophy in Graz, Paris (Université VIII St. Denis) and Vienna and a few semesters of singing in Graz and in 2012 in Kathmandu. In 2008 she completed her doctorate at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz on the subject of "On the roots of Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy of life ." In it she examined Nietzsche's philosophical understanding of human existence and analyzed the essential existentials in his complete works.

From October 2015 to January 2017 she was a fellow at the Research Institute for Philosophy in Hanover . From December 2018 to February 2019 she was Residency Awardee at the renowned Adishakti Laboratory for Arts Research in Tamil Nadu , India. In addition, she completed the diploma course for "practice-oriented project management" in 2017.

She is the chairwoman of the Association for Practical Philosophy and on the board of the Society for Applied Philosophy (gap). She was a guest lecturer at Kathmandu University in Nepal and gave lectures in Tokyo at both Sophia University and Nihon University, and in Lima at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos . She also taught at the École Supérieure Roi Fahd de Traduction in Tangier , as well as at the university course in Philosophical Practice at the University of Vienna .

Her philosophical and scientific work focuses on philosophical anthropology , political philosophy , intercultural ethics and philosophical practice . Hirn itself operates a philosophy practice in which "rational problem-solving skills" are to be strengthened. Hirn is also active in youth and adult education and as a freelance artist involved in international art projects and exhibitions.

Lisz Hirn currently lives and works in Vienna .
