Jonas Erbas from the online magazine metal.de wrote that Kadavar would “sort of conjure up a catalog of twelve absolute hits”, which “covers everything from newer pieces [...] to rarely played songs to the band's own classics the fan heart desires ”. Live in Copenhagen would be the "perfect example of a live album", "superbly mixed" and "scores particularly well with its unadulterated retro charm". Peter Hesse from the German magazine Deaf Forever was more critical of the sound. The guitars would be “ overdriven in places”, the drums would “rattle imprecisely” and the vocals would “lie like a distorted carpet in the sound depths”. There would be “loads of bootlegs that are of better quality”.

Live in Copenhagen entered the German album charts at number 95.
