Loewenhertz is a German synth pop formation from Augsburg . It emerged in 2008 from the previous band L'image Synthetique and consists of keyboardist Andreas Scherer and singer Alexander Pfahler. Her songs are characterized by catchy melodies, modern electro-pop sounds and emotional singing and are similar to the music of Depeche Mode and Wolfsheim . Their style of music, which they say is rooted in the synth pop and dark wave of the 1980s and 1990s, is what they call electro-based pop .

In 1996 Andreas Scherer and Alexander Pfahler founded the previous band L'image and L'image Synthetique together with Oliver Strehler . Two years later they signed their first record deal with Intelligent Communications in Augsburg and released their first EP One .

The trio then switched to the then Hanover label Synthetic Product Records . After Oliver Strehler left, the band released the split CD Musicment (L'avantgarde / L'image) in 2002 under the direction of Lorenz Macke . As a result, some songs could be placed on well-known samplers. In spring 2005 the band had their first major success: Together with Niels van Gogh , L'image made it into the German dance charts and the German DJ playlist with the single My Own Religion .

In 2006 they continued the production of their songs in their home studio near Augsburg. However, the demo recordings initially received little attention. It wasn't until the two musicians met producer Jose Alvarez-Brill in 2008 that some record companies showed their interest. The subsequent negotiations with some major labels, however, were unsuccessful. However, the band was able to negotiate a publishing contract with Universal .

New band founded and successes since 2008

As more and more titles with German lyrics were added to the English songs, the two musicians decided in 2008 to re-establish the band under the name "Loewenhertz".

In 2012, the independent label Echozone became aware of Loewenhertz and agreed to work with them. After the contract was signed, the debut album Irgendwo in Deutschland was released in 2014 . The album was produced by Jose Alvarez-Brill. Sales exceeded expectations and the first single, Der Weg , reached the German Alternative Charts and the German Electronic Webcharts .

After releasing a few singles, the duo launched their second long player real time in 2017 . The second studio album was produced by Motel Music. Andreas Schmitz and Hilger Tintel from Motel Music write and produce songs for Harmjoy, Oomph! , Blutengel , Lacrimosa , Megaherz , Tyske Ludder , Schiller . In addition, Ray Gorden assisted the band with preproduction.

After the success of the album Realtime , the two continued to work on new songs. They got to know Felix Heldt and Robin Felder . The latter had worked with DJ Tomcraft , Eniac, Tom Novy , Michelle and The Disco Boys in the past . Together with the two well-known songwriters, the first single releases, Golden and Strange, were created from the album Traumfaenger (producer Motel Music), which was released on October 18, 2019 .
