Local railway Littau – Groß Senitz

The local railway Littau – Groß Senitz (Czech: Místní dráha Litovel – Senice ) was a private local railway in today's Czech Republic . The route leads from Litovel to Senice na Hané .

history

On December 31, 1913, the “ Mayor Caspar Gallas, in association with the house and property owner Johann Starostik, was given the requested concession to build and operate a standard-gauge local railway from the Littau station of the kk state railways via Haniowitz and Köllein to the Großsenitz station of the kk state railways plus one Branch to the quarries in Lautsch ”granted.

The route was opened on August 1, 1914. The operations were carried out by the Brno-Chernivtsi operations department of the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB) on behalf of the owners with their operating resources.

On January 1, 1925, the Littau – Groß Senitz local railway was nationalized by law and the line was integrated into the ČSD network.

The local railway Littau – Groß Senitz procured two triple- coupled local railway tank locomotives for their local railway , as they were also procured by the kkStB as class 97 . The two locomotives were named LITOVEL and CHOLINA in addition to the numbers 1 and 2 . No. 1 LITOVEL (ČSD 310.0134) has been preserved as a museum and today belongs to the Turnov depot of České dráhy (ČD) as an operational museum locomotive .
